Soap news and knows and neys.

More Soap News from the Maestro's cauldron...ahem!
Just some photos from the archives... the fancy stuff is done on order or when the fancy strikes me. Great fun ofcourse but people only gift other people this kind of soap, initally to their delight and then consternation! How does one hold on to this in the shower!!!

There has been innovation in the line of body butter and massage bars, which in winter are much in demand. As they consist of just kokam butter, almond and apricot kernel oil, olive and essential oils they tend to do some good against the dryness of the weather. Liquid soap for bathing and face washing,  has been coming along , pretty clear now and smelling pretty too. Great travel solution to carrying wet soap. And,on treks ,they dont pollute the fresh waters of streams up in the mountains . All organic and good to go back into nature. Its been my all in one  for  bath, hair and delicates. Simple, safe and scented soapy solution.

Good for valentines day.. and sweethearts.

pumpkins and autumn leaves... courstesy halloween moulds!
So back to the Bubble Bubble, toil and trouble as lavender soap is sadly lacking. Check out the Brambleberry Soap sculpture contest.. wow! the melt and pour is easy and so tempting to make... lollipops! but Ive sworn off the chemicals. Its on my FB page.
Its also a life lesson to look up the Lush newsread. It has all the ingredients of the soap written out, green ones are natural and the ones in red are not. Also most of the oil is palm oil, as is the case with much of the soap available at Bombay store or Fab india. That is the cheapest oil on the block and is great for hard soap but not as good for the skin as olive or rice bran. So educate yourself on what you spend on. Also any clear soap like Khadi  is made from a soap base called melt and pour.. its a block bought readymade which is then melted and coloured and flavoured.. like Rasna...so you never know what goes into that. Enough said! Does this mean that mine is better? Well, YES! But thats the freedom of choice we live by... and tolerance.. much of both in what Oprah learnt on her visit to India... (STill eat with our hands, do we????cracking up! )
Bye and collect any newt's eyes that you find for me!
